VOCES VIVAS

About the construction

we constructed the pyramid with a wooden frame, and an exterior faced in pink foam. we created the texture with a mixture of PlasterWeld and joint compound. The pyramid had to be robust, but quite light, as it had to be built at the school, then installed in the museum.

The mural behind the wall was inspired by the sunrises of Mexico. I was asked to make it feel alive, bright and dynamic. This was a celebration of the culture and history of latin communities in Boulder, Colorado.
