The Walls
Wall panels were painted off-site and connected on-site. We patched the seams, and textured over with JC and texture rolls, sponges, and wide pallet knives to flatten. We then based in light blue, and did a few passes over in the deep teal glaze. “clouds” and “islands” were added along the seam lines to avoid obvious lines against the original treatment. The trim and conduit (later added) was finished in high-gloss.
Floor treatment
We textured with 20x Deck Resurfacer, sprayed with water and flattened with a wide trowel to create the same texture on the wall. The paint treatment was the same as the walls, but finished in high-gloss.
Back wall of the Theater
this treatment was made to look exactly like the walls of the actual theater. After patching, we applied JC to look like the chipped, layered, and peeling walls. The base was our slop paint - chunks of paint and all - and finished in house black. Photo 4 is the reference.
